Veo 3.1 Pricing: What One 8-Second Clip Costs
Google sets Veo 3.1 pricing per second, so one 8-second clip through the Gemini API costs $0.40 to $4.80 depending on the tier and resolution. Here, each 8-second clip costs a fixed number of credits, from 30 on Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p.
Google's Veo 3.1 API pricing, per second and per clip
Google's published Gemini API rates (paid tier, video with audio, October 2026). Google bills by the second of finished video and charges only when a video is generated successfully. There is no free tier, and Google offers Veo 3.1 Lite only up to 1080p.

Credits per 8-second Veo 3.1 clip on this site
Every clip on this site is 8 seconds with sound, in 16:9 or 9:16, so each tier and resolution has a fixed price per clip. You don't pay by the second. Veo 3.1 Lite also offers 4K here, which Google's API does not.

Google's API or credits here: which costs less per clip?
On the smaller packs, Google's API costs less per clip.
With the $14.90 pack, a Veo 3.1 Lite clip at 720p works out to $0.75 here, against $0.40 at Google's rate. Veo 3.1 Fast at 720p is about $1.50 here, against $0.80, and Veo 3.1 at 720p is about $6.20, against $3.20.
Larger packs and plans lower the price of each credit; the pricing page lists them all.
The credit price also covers everything around the model, listed below.
What you get for the credit price
The same Veo 3.1 tiers, without the setup Google's API asks for.
No code, no API keys
Type a prompt or upload an image in the browser. Google's API expects code or an API client.
No Google Cloud billing to set up
Buy a pack or plan here instead of linking a Google Cloud or Google AI Studio billing account.
Start and end frames on every tier
Upload a start frame, and an end frame if you want one, on all three tiers, so the clip opens and lands on pictures you chose.
Image models on the same account
Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana, Nano Banana 2 Lite, Nano Banana Pro and Seedream 5 Flash make the start frames, paid from the same credits.
The AI Studio agent
Describe the video in a chat and it can plan the prompt and run the image or video generations for you.
No charge for blocked or failed clips
Blocked prompts aren't charged; if a generation fails, the credits come back.
A 10-clip budget for a short ad
Say you are making a short ad and expect about 10 takes before you have two you would publish. Draft cheap, then finish on a better tier.

Draft 8 takes on Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p
Use the drafts to settle the prompt, the framing and the timing. Each draft costs 30 credits here. At Google's API rates the same eight drafts cost 8 × $0.40 = $3.20.
- 2
Finish 2 on Veo 3.1 Fast at 1080p
Run the prompt you settled on at 1080p for the clips you will publish: 65 credits each here, or 2 × $0.96 = $1.92 through Google's API. Each run is a new take, so the finals may differ from the draft.

Add it up
Eight Lite drafts at 720p and two Fast finals at 1080p fit in the $14.90 pack (600 credits). The same ten clips cost $5.12 through Google's API. Making all ten on Veo 3.1 at 1080p instead would cost 255 credits a clip here, or $32 in total at Google's rates.
Ways to spend less on Veo 3.1
Tier and resolution set the price of every clip.
Pick resolution last, and 1080p before 4K
On Veo 3.1 Fast, 720p costs 60 credits, 1080p costs 65 and 4K costs 180. Settle the prompt first, then choose the resolution. On every tier here 4K is the big step up, and unless the clip is going on a large screen, 1080p is usually enough for the final.
Start from a still image
Make the opening frame with Nano Banana 2 first (8 credits at 1K), then animate it. Getting the look right in a still costs far less than rerolling video until it appears.
